Pair a card reader with a till
The reader is its own device beside the till. Add it once and choose which till it sits with.
- Open Till sign-in and find Card terminals.
- Add the reader with a name your staff will recognise, such as "Counter reader", and choose who provides it.
- In the list of tills, choose that reader for the till it sits beside.
From then on, a card sale rung on that till is sent to that reader.
More than one reader
A till with a reader paired to it always uses that one. A browser that is not a till is asked Which reader when there are several.
Taking a reader out of service
Retire it. It is unpaired from its till, and sales already taken on it stay as they were.
The till never sees a card. The customer taps or inserts on the reader, and the reader tells the till whether it was approved.
